NEAR Mobile, the largest mobile wallet in the NEAR ecosystem, has appeared in App Store finance rankings across 38 countries during a recent 31-day period. The self-custodial application has surpassed one million downloads and now ranks number one in the Finance category in Serbia, number two in Hungary, and number four in Moldova and Oman. It also reached seventh place in Finland and Nigeria.

These results arrive as attention grows around the NEAR ecosystem and its chain-abstraction tools. The protocol known as NEAR Intents, which powers cross-chain execution, has recorded more than 33 billion dollars in cumulative volume across 35 blockchains.

Gasless Transactions and Multichain Access

Version 4.0.0 of NEAR Mobile introduces a gasless experience for supported actions. The application sponsors relayer fees, allowing users to swap and transfer assets across supported networks without holding NEAR tokens or maintaining separate native gas tokens on each chain.

Powered by NEAR Intents, the wallet provides access to more than 120 assets across 35-plus blockchains. Users can execute cross-chain swaps, view unified balances, stake assets, and manage holdings from a single mobile interface. Cross-chain swaps can settle in seconds.

Traditional multi-chain use often requires users to keep different native tokens solely for transaction fees, even when they already hold the assets they wish to move. The new release removes that requirement for supported transactions.

Unified Balances Across Networks

In addition to addressing gas fees, NEAR Mobile targets fragmented liquidity. Assets such as USDC held on Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, and TRON have historically appeared as separate balances that require manual bridging and network switching. Through NEAR Intents, the wallet can display supported liquidity from multiple networks as a single unified balance. Users can then send or swap the aggregated amount without first bridging funds themselves.

By handling networks, bridges, and gas tokens in the background, the application presents NEAR’s chain-abstraction technology in a form designed for everyday mobile use.

Core Features and Availability

NEAR Mobile is available on both iOS and Android. It supports account creation and management, sending and receiving assets, NEAR staking, and multichain functions. Onboarding options include Google, Apple ID, or email, alongside traditional mnemonic-phrase import for experienced users. The wallet maintains self-custody and offers on-chain account recovery.

Staking features include NEAR and NPRO, with NPRO currently offering yields of up to 8.58 percent APY.

The application continues to expand its reach while focusing on simplifying interactions that previously required users to manage multiple chains, bridges, and fee tokens separately.
