Ripple announced a collaboration with Stripe-owned Privy to embed XRP Ledger wallets into applications, enabling seamless payments with XRP and RLUSD while supporting AI agents in machine-to-machine transactions
Ripple has formed a partnership with Privy, the wallet infrastructure provider owned by Stripe, to expand access to the XRP Ledger for developers. The integration allows applications to create, manage, and sign transactions on XRPL without users handling private keys themselves. It targets both traditional fintech payments and emerging AI-driven commerce on the ledger.
Privy’s programmable wallet tools will let developers build XRPL wallets directly into their products. Users can create wallets, approve transactions, and complete payments using XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, or other assets issued on the network. The system also supports exporting private keys and seed phrases for full ownership control, giving flexibility when users want to move funds elsewhere.
This approach removes the need for customers to install separate wallets or manage cryptographic details. Fintech companies and payment providers can now offer stablecoin services and digital asset features inside familiar apps, reducing friction for everyday users.
The partnership emphasizes agentic commerce, where autonomous AI software can hold funds, initiate payments, and complete transactions independently. It includes support for the x402 payment standard, which enables software-to-software exchanges for services such as data access or API usage.
For example, an AI agent could purchase computing resources or model outputs by paying directly with XRP or RLUSD. Ripple previously released an AI Starter Kit in June to help developers create such autonomous applications, and the new integration builds on that foundation with added transaction controls and fee sponsorship options.
Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce. The XRP Ledger has already seen significant growth in automated payments. It has processed more than 13 million AI agent transactions, representing roughly 25 percent of overall network activity. The ledger also maintains over 8 million funded accounts and has facilitated more than $1 trillion in value transfers over its history.
These numbers reflect XRPL’s long-standing design for fast, low-cost settlement and native support for digital assets. The partnership positions the network for broader adoption in both consumer payments and next-generation automated systems.
Privy, founded in 2021 and now under Stripe’s ownership following its acquisition of the stablecoin provider Bridge, specializes in embedding crypto wallets into non-crypto applications. Its infrastructure handles wallet creation, management, and signing through software, serving platforms like NFT marketplaces and loyalty programs.
Privy co-founder and CEO Henri Stern noted that stablecoins are reshaping money movement and highlighted XRPL’s early focus on payments. The companies plan to roll out additional features, including transaction policy controls and gas sponsorship, to give developers greater oversight while simplifying the experience for end users.
| Key Partnership Elements | Details |
