NOWPayments has released empirical data covering six months of enterprise payout activity, providing a comparative view of performance across TRON, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, Bitcoin and Ethereum. The analysis aims to help businesses evaluate blockchain options according to speed, transaction volume and cost efficiency.

The five networks together accounted for 94.04 percent of payout volume and 77.84 percent of payout transactions in the period reviewed. Results show distinct operational profiles rather than a single leading chain across all metrics.

Volume and Transaction Shares Differ Sharply

TRON processed the largest share of total monetary volume at 43.69 percent. BNB Smart Chain followed with 21.75 percent, while Ethereum ranked third at 18.84 percent. Bitcoin contributed 6.68 percent of volume and Solana 3.08 percent.

On the number of individual payouts, the ranking reversed. BNB Smart Chain handled 48.23 percent of transactions, far ahead of TRON at 15.73 percent. Ethereum represented 7.42 percent of transactions, Solana 3.86 percent and Bitcoin 2.60 percent.

The disparity indicates that the average TRON payout was approximately 6.2 times larger than the average BNB Smart Chain payout. BNB Smart Chain therefore supported higher-frequency, lower-value transfers, while TRON carried larger individual sums.

Settlement Speeds Across Networks

Solana recorded the shortest average payout time at 1 minute and 45 seconds. Bitcoin followed at 2 minutes and 53 seconds. TRON averaged 3 minutes and 8 seconds, BNB Smart Chain 3 minutes and 13 seconds, and Ethereum 5 minutes and 56 seconds.

The difference between the fastest and slowest network was 4 minutes and 11 seconds. All five chains completed payouts in under six minutes on average, with TRON and BNB Smart Chain separated by only five seconds.

The data indicates that the quickest network was not the most heavily used for either volume or transaction count. Evaluation of crypto payment rails therefore requires attention to the full set of operational needs rather than any single performance figure.

Fee Considerations Beyond Public Networks
