Eligible users can now subscribe to tokens offering indirect exposure to private companies ahead of potential public listings through self-custodial wallets
Binance Wallet has begun providing access to Pre-Access campaigns hosted by PancakeSwap, enabling qualified participants to acquire tokens structured for indirect economic exposure to private companies prior to any possible initial public offering. The initiative, detailed in materials released on September 20, 2026, operates entirely on-chain and through self-custodial wallets.
PancakeSwap manages the campaigns and token sales, while third-party providers structure the underlying exposure using arrangements such as special purpose vehicles, protocols, or smart contracts. Binance Wallet itself neither issues nor sells the products and does not control subscriptions, allocations, claims, refunds, or settlement.
A Pre-Access Token supplies eligible holders with indirect exposure to a private company or related asset. Participants do not appear on any company shareholder register and receive no ownership of the underlying shares. The tokens confer no voting rights, dividends, information rights, governance privileges, or standard shareholder status.
Exposure may take contractual, synthetic, or other indirect forms depending on the structure selected by the third-party provider for each campaign. Campaign organizers set their own subscription prices, implied valuations, eligibility criteria, timelines, allocation methods, and settlement rules. Subscription prices and valuations may differ substantially from any future IPO price, secondary-market value, or prior funding round.
Access requires a Keyless Wallet and successful completion of an eligibility check. Users review campaign rules and submit subscription amounts directly from their self-custodied wallets via the Pre-Access section.
Final allocations are determined by three factors: Alpha Points balances, Trencher Badge status, and the user’s bStocks On-Chain Tier. Higher Alpha Points and elevated bStocks tiers can increase allocation size. Trencher Badge holders receive an additional allocation. PancakeSwap retains final authority over campaign rules.
The Trencher certification, introduced earlier for active on-chain traders using Binance Wallet Keyless addresses, evaluates trading volume, activity, and community engagement. Badges may be revoked for practices such as wash trading. bStocks are separate tokenized securities that deliver economic exposure to listed stocks or ETFs without conveying direct ownership of the underlying assets.
The launch occurs against rising interest in tokenized private-company exposure. Research from Binance estimated that approximately 1,300 private companies held valuations above $1 billion, representing close to $4.7 trillion in aggregate value. Tokenized pre-IPO products on other platforms had reached only around $41 million in market capitalization as of mid-September.
Private-company derivatives have attracted greater participation. Combined open interest in pre-IPO perpetual contracts linked to certain high-profile firms exceeded $160 million in September, up from roughly $1 million in April. Other platforms have offered related products through derivatives or tokenized structures, none of which grant voting rights or direct claims on company assets.
Completion of an IPO by a target company does not automatically convert Pre-Access Tokens into listed shares. Holders may continue to hold or trade the tokens where permitted, yet conversion into tokenized real-world assets or other settlement forms can be delayed, restricted, or unavailable. Secondary-market prices may trade at premiums or discounts relative to listed shares due to liquidity, lockups, and product-specific constraints.
Binance does not guarantee that any target company will complete an IPO. If underlying exposure cannot be delivered, any refund, unwind, or compensation depends on PancakeSwap and the relevant third-party provider. Trading, redemption, conversion, or settlement may be unavailable, delayed, restricted, suspended, or cancelled. Oversubscription can result in reduced, prorated, rejected, or cancelled allocations. Funds may remain locked under campaign smart-contract rules after subscription.
PancakeSwap has opened the Pre-Access portal, yet the first project remains unnamed. Campaign pages are expected to disclose company details, subscription assets, pricing, valuations, eligibility requirements, allocation mechanics, claim processes, and risk terms once announced. Trading volume linked to the portal registered at zero shortly after launch, consistent with the early stage of the rollout.
Binance Wallet services are provided by Binance Barbados Limited and are not supervised by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority or another regulator. Participants are directed to individual campaign documents for definitive allocation, refund, and settlement terms.
