The federally chartered crypto bank now supports seven Etherlink tokens for institutional clients, enabling regulated holding of xU3O8 and related Tezos ecosystem assets in segregated accounts
Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered cryptocurrency bank in the United States, has added custody support for Etherlink and seven assets issued on the Tezos layer-2 network. The move allows institutional clients to hold these assets in segregated accounts at the bank under its federal charter protections.
Etherlink is an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible layer-2 network that settles transactions on Tezos. This structure permits assets and applications designed for Ethereum environments to operate while relying on Tezos for settlement and consensus.
The supported assets include xU3O8, a token representing exposure to physical uranium; wrapped XTZ (WXTZ); the liquid staking token stXTZ; wrapped Ether (WETH); and the stablecoins USDT, USDC and USDSM.
xU3O8 provides investors with ownership exposure to physical uranium without the need to handle or store the commodity directly. According to Anchorage, traditional uranium investment processes typically involve specialist intermediaries, extended settlement periods measured in weeks, and relatively high minimum investment sizes.
Tokenization changes these mechanics by enabling transfers and settlement in minutes. At current levels, xU3O8 carries a market capitalization just above $9 million.
Anchorage is not the first custodian to support the token. In August 2025, Hex Trust integrated Etherlink to provide custody for xU3O8 and other assets issued on the network.
The combination of assets supports both specialized commodity exposure and practical institutional needs. Wrapped and liquid staking tokens facilitate portfolio adjustments and yield strategies, while stablecoins serve collateral, treasury and liquidity functions. Holding them on the same custody infrastructure as xU3O8 aligns uranium-linked positions with day-to-day operational requirements for professional asset managers and funds.
Clients gain access through Anchorage’s regulated framework, distinguishing the offering by its status as a federally chartered institution. The integration focuses specifically on Etherlink-issued tokens rather than a wider network expansion.
| Asset | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| xU3O8 | Commodity token | Represents physical uranium exposure |
| WXTZ | Wrapped token | Mirrors Tezos native coin price |
| stXTZ | Liquid staking | Staked XTZ for yield |
| WETH | Wrapped token | Mirrors Ethereum |
| USDT | Stablecoin | US dollar pegged |
| USDC | Stablecoin | US dollar pegged |
| USDSM | Stablecoin | US dollar pegged |
The addition places tokenized commodity exposure alongside established digital asset custody tools within a single regulated environment for institutional participants.
