Tokenization platform gains direct access to federally issued digital dollars for institutional settlement, eliminating third-party intermediaries
Securitize and Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A. have entered a partnership that enables the tokenization platform to mint and redeem stablecoins directly through the federally chartered bank. Under the arrangement, Anchorage handles issuance, custody and settlement, consolidating the entire cash leg of institutional tokenized-asset transactions within a single regulated institution.
The structure replaces reliance on external intermediaries for dollar settlement. Institutions trading tokenized funds on Securitize can now use stablecoins issued under federal oversight, aligning counterparty and custody standards on the payment side with those already applied to the securities side.
Securitize supports more than $4 billion in assets across tokenized funds from major managers including BlackRock, Apollo, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR and VanEck. The platform provides infrastructure for issuance, compliance and secondary trading of these products.
Anchorage Digital Bank’s stablecoin offerings include USDtb, developed with Ethena Labs, and USA₮, developed with Tether. The partnership announcement did not specify which stablecoin Securitize will primarily use, nor did it provide a formal launch timeline for broader deployment.
This existing overlap means the partnership builds on an established operational link rather than introducing an entirely new reserve relationship.
Carlos Domingo, chairman and chief executive of Securitize, described the rationale for the direct connection.
Nathan McCauley, co-founder and chief executive of Anchorage Digital, framed the arrangement in terms of institutional readiness.
Securitize separately noted on social media that the model places one federally chartered bank in control of the full process from minting through redemption.
The partnership was announced shortly before the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency released its final stablecoin policy under the GENIUS Act. That guidance is expected to clarify operational requirements for federally chartered banks issuing stablecoins.
Anchorage Digital Bank operates as a federally chartered crypto-native institution authorized to provide custody, settlement and issuance services. Securitize, a company focused on institutional tokenization infrastructure, has expanded its offerings in recent periods to include tokenized U.S. stocks and additional fund structures.
Market data cited in connection with the announcement showed the broader tokenized real-world asset sector reaching $31 billion in March, up from $23 billion at the end of 2025.
By keeping minting, redemption, custody and settlement inside the same banking relationship, the arrangement aims to reduce operational friction and counterparty layers for institutions already using Securitize’s platform for securities-side activity. Dollars remain in segregated accounts at the national bank for the duration they are held.
The companies have collaborated previously through the BUIDL reserve holdings that support USDtb. The new direct mint-and-redeem capability extends that relationship to the full cash cycle supporting tokenized trades.
No additional details on volume expectations, fee structures or specific network deployments were disclosed in the announcements.
