Standalone platform expands beyond Phantom wallet integration, offering binary contracts on sports, politics and economic events with Chainlink-powered automated settlement
World has launched public access to its standalone prediction market platform on Solana for more than one million users who joined its waitlist. The move extends the service beyond its earlier integration inside the Phantom wallet, where it has operated since July after first supporting positions from June 1.
The platform reports that more than 150,000 markets have already been created across sports, crypto, politics, finance, economics and culture. Its initial standalone selection includes every NFL regular-season game, seven professional soccer leagues, Formula 1 races, contracts linked to the 2026 U.S. midterm elections and the Federal Reserve’s next policy decision.
Each market consists of yes and no contracts priced between $0 and $1. Prices represent the market’s collective assessment of an event’s likelihood. Winning contracts settle at $1 while losing ones expire at $0. Trades settle in CASH, the dollar-backed stablecoin used within Phantom.
World functions as a non-custodial protocol and does not hold user funds. Orders route to liquidity providers operating on Solana. Users do not need to open a brokerage account or register with a centralized exchange. Phantom users must still hold sufficient balances to cover Solana network fees when opening or closing positions.
Access is available at the platform’s standalone website and inside the Phantom wallet on iOS, Android and desktop. Prediction markets remain restricted to jurisdictions where they are permitted.
Market data and contract resolution rely on Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment. Once an event concludes or reaches its predetermined deadline, the system can determine the outcome and settle related contracts without a human panel or token-holder vote. The design aims to shorten the dispute periods common in older oracle models.
A comparable approach has been adopted by other platforms that use the same Chainlink tools to automate creation, resolution and settlement of markets tied to major cryptocurrencies.
By routing orders to on-chain liquidity providers rather than maintaining an off-chain order book, World keeps committed capital circulating inside the Solana network.
The launch adds another retail trading venue to Solana’s application layer at a time when overall prediction-market activity has reached record levels. Established platforms recorded tens of billions of dollars in notional volume in recent months, though World has not yet released figures for trading volume, open interest or its fee structure.
Following the initial rollout, World plans to introduce equity up-and-down contracts. Commodity markets covering gold, silver, oil, natural gas and computing capacity are scheduled next, followed by weather contracts tied to major cities. The company has not disclosed a precise timeline for these additions.
Availability of markets tied to U.S. sports, elections or Federal Reserve decisions does not automatically grant access to every U.S. resident. Access remains subject to applicable federal and state rules governing event contracts and gaming activities.
