Miami-based Streamex Corp. announces an initial $1 million commitment to its Aureon Relative Value Fund from Metalayer Capital. The move pairs GLDY, the company's tokenized gold asset, with offsetting futures positions to capture 3.5 percent annual yield while remaining neutral to gold price movements
Streamex Corp., a Nasdaq-listed company focused on tokenizing commodity real-world assets, has received an initial $1 million allocation from a leading institutional investor. The commitment, made through Metalayer Capital’s Aureon Relative Value Fund, uses GLDY—the company’s gold-backed tokenized security—as the long position in a delta-neutral strategy. The fund pairs GLDY with an offsetting short position in gold-linked perpetual futures, allowing it to generate returns primarily from the yield paid by GLDY rather than price appreciation or depreciation in gold.
For Streamex, the allocation represents a new source of capital that flows directly into GLDY holdings. This increases the assets under management on which the company earns management fees, creating a sustainable growth mechanism beyond traditional direct sales. The initial $1 million is final, with follow-on investments subject to the investor’s discretion. Metalayer Capital, founded by former Two Sigma executives and currently a liquidity provider for GLDY on certain trading venues, also has the ability to mint and redeem the token directly with Streamex.
GLDY, offered only to eligible investors under exemptions from securities registration, has attracted accredited investors seeking yield to date. The token generates a targeted annualized yield of 3.5 percent through Streamex’s institutional gold-leasing program. Holders receive monthly distributions of additional GLDY tokens in proportion to their holdings, effectively increasing their gold exposure without additional capital outlay.
In August 2026, the sixth consecutive monthly distribution was announced and scheduled for September 17. Each GLDY token distributed 0.003347 ounces of gold for the month, covering the period from August 1 to August 31. Streamex publishes real-time gold reserves for GLDY through a Chainlink proof-of-reserves oracle, ensuring ongoing transparency for holders.
Streamex reported second-quarter 2026 results in August, highlighting its first gold-lease income of $0.1 million and ending the period with $41.8 million in total liquidity, no debt, and $147.1 million in total equity. Co-founder and CEO Henry McPhie described the quarter as an inflection point, noting the compounding benefits of GLDY’s custody, liquidity, distribution, and independent verification features.
In August, Streamex outlined a 90-day plan that placed converting the first institutional allocations into GLDY at the top. McPhie stated that the arrangement represents “a fundamentally different growth channel than selling to one investor at a time.” The company has made six consecutive monthly yield distributions and maintains physical gold reserves alongside digital assets in its liquidity position.
| Item | Amount (USD) |
|---|---|
| Cash and Marketable Securities | 18.5M |
| Digital Assets | 6.0M |
| Physical Gold | 15.5M |

Streamex does not manage or sponsor the fund and is not compensated based on capital raised. The allocation and related liquidity ties between the companies further underscore the maturing infrastructure around tokenized commodities. Additional distributions and reserve verifications continue on schedule, supporting the token’s role as a regulated, yield-bearing vehicle for institutional participation in gold markets.
