Shiba Inu has integrated its token into the Solana ecosystem through Sunrise, allowing direct trading on decentralized finance platforms within the network
Shiba Inu officially joined the Solana blockchain on October 4, 2026, enabling users to trade its token directly on decentralized finance applications without needing bridges or external solutions. This step marks a significant expansion for one of the cryptocurrency industry's most prominent meme-based assets, which originated as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.
The move comes through Sunrise, an asset gateway developed by Wormhole Labs. Sunrise handles the creation of canonical representations on Solana, providing liquidity and seamless integration with wallets, exchanges, and aggregators. This framework ensures a single, verified version of the asset on the new network, avoiding the fragmentation that often occurs when multiple unofficial tokens circulate.
Importantly, the integration does not affect Shiba Inu's original Ethereum presence or its associated layer-two network, Shibarium. The ERC-20 form on Ethereum continues to operate independently, and there are no plans to migrate these components to Solana. Instead, Sunrise establishes a legitimate, issuer-approved representation on Solana, allowing holders and traders to engage with the token in a growing ecosystem.
Solana highlighted the strength of the Shiba Inu community, describing it as one of the largest in the crypto space. The announcement emphasized that the project has evolved far beyond its initial meme coin status, now featuring its own network and exchange.
Backed by Wormhole Labs, Sunrise serves as a portal that brings assets from other chains to Solana while securing their official status. The system addresses common challenges in multi-chain environments, such as liquidity splits and user confusion from unofficial versions of the same token. By collaborating directly with project issuers, Sunrise creates a unified trading environment on Solana.
This approach builds on earlier expansions of the Sunrise platform. It launched in November 2025 with Monad's MON token as a key listing. In September 2026, Dogecoin and PEPE followed, each integrated via Sunrise and Wormhole NTT, further diversifying meme and utility assets available within Solana's decentralized finance space.
The Solana team noted that the integration reflects the project's growth into a broader ecosystem. Users can now access the canonical SHIB version across a range of platforms, including wallets, decentralized exchanges, and trading aggregators. Specific applications include TryFomo, DFlow, Titan Exchange, Phantom, Jupiter Exchange, Raydium, Archer Exchange, Kamino Swap, Mayan, and others.
Verification of the token address is available on tokens.xyz, providing users with a reliable way to confirm the official contract on Solana.
At the time of the announcement, SHIB was trading near $0.0000057. The integration has not yet triggered a significant price shift, consistent with patterns seen after earlier listings on the platform. However, the development is expected to enhance the token's utility by connecting it to Solana's active DeFi ecosystem.
With increased on-chain trading options, SHIB holders gain broader opportunities for engagement within the Solana network. As meme tokens continue to evolve, this canonical approach supports more unified liquidity and secure participation across platforms.
| Integration Date | Platform | Token |
|---|---|---|
| November 2025 | Sunrise | MON (Monad) |
| September 2026 | Sunrise | DOGE (Dogecoin) |
| September 2026 | Sunrise | PEPE |
| October 4, 2026 | Sunrise | SHIB (Shiba Inu) |
This progression illustrates Sunrise's role in steadily broadening the range of assets accessible on Solana, with Shiba Inu now contributing to the diversity of meme-oriented tokens in the DeFi space.
