Strategy chairman posts familiar message pointing to further accumulation after recent buys of 334 BTC and large preferred-share repurchases, with formal SEC details expected after the holiday
Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor has again indicated the company remains committed to adding Bitcoin to its treasury. On October 11 he shared an updated acquisition chart showing 117 purchase points and wrote that there is always room for more orange, a phrase long associated with the firm’s ongoing Bitcoin strategy.
The post arrives as Strategy’s holdings stand at exactly 848,000 BTC. At current valuations that position is worth approximately $70.48 billion and represents roughly 4.04 percent of the total Bitcoin supply.
An October 5 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission detailed the most recent activity. Between September 28 and October 4 Strategy acquired 334 Bitcoin for $28.7 million. The same period saw the company repurchase approximately 1.77 million shares of its STRC preferred stock for $176.3 million.
In dollar terms the preferred-share buybacks substantially exceeded the Bitcoin outlay. The dual actions illustrate that management continues to balance treasury accumulation with adjustments to the capital structure rather than directing every available dollar solely toward Bitcoin.
During the third quarter Strategy raised $5.41 billion through the issuance of new common shares. Over that same quarter the company added 1,666 Bitcoin relative to its holdings at the end of June. Filings indicate that 9.5 percent of the capital raised was allocated directly to Bitcoin purchases. Remaining proceeds were designated for a dollar reserve, cash holdings, dividends and preferred-share repurchases.
Independent analyst Shanaka Anslem Perera has noted that the act of raising capital does not automatically produce immediate Bitcoin acquisitions. Investors, he said, should examine what remains after financing costs and other obligations, including debt and preferred claims that rank ahead of common equity.
Any new official disclosure of additional purchases is not expected before Tuesday. Federal offices are closed Monday for the Columbus Day holiday, delaying the normal posting of SEC filings. Market participants tracking the company’s cadence therefore face a short interval between Saylor’s public comment and the next documented record of activity.
Strategy’s approach continues to combine periodic Bitcoin purchases with active management of preferred equity and cash reserves. Recent filings show that the firm has at times spent multiples of its typical weekly Bitcoin budget while simultaneously reducing preferred-share exposure. The sequence of social-media signals followed by formal disclosures remains the established pattern for confirming the pace of accumulation.
