Interactive Brokers, managing over $900 billion in client assets, has expanded its digital asset platform with Ethereum staking through Zerohash, allowing eligible customers to earn additional returns on their cryptocurrency
Interactive Brokers announced the addition of Ethereum staking to its services on October 13, 2026. The feature is available to eligible clients of Interactive Brokers LLC and provides a way for holders to participate in network validation while earning rewards. Zerohash, the crypto infrastructure provider, handles the technical execution of staking requests and reward distribution.
Rewards are automatically credited as additional staked Ethereum, allowing positions to compound without manual intervention. Customers manage all aspects of the process, including staking and unstaking, directly through the firm’s Client Portal Staking Dashboard. Pending transactions can be tracked in real time, and the system integrates seamlessly with existing brokerage accounts that already support stocks, options, and futures.
The staking launch builds on prior expansions that have already positioned Interactive Brokers as a full-service provider for digital assets. The firm previously introduced wallet transfers for supported cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, enabling seamless moves from external wallets into IBKR-linked accounts without forced liquidations. Stablecoin funding and conversion services have also been rolled out, supporting 24/7 deposits and withdrawals of USDC, RLUSD, and PYUSD.
Trading of 20 digital assets is already available, with commissions ranging from 0.12 percent to 0.18 percent of trade value and a $1.75 minimum per order. These assets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Chainlink, Aave, and Dogecoin. Futures contracts for smaller Bitcoin and Ethereum positions are offered around the clock, while a unified prediction-markets interface aggregates contracts from Kalshi, CME Group, and ForecastEx for cross-platform comparison.
Interactive Brokers reports more than $900 billion in client assets and serves over 5 million clients globally. The Nasdaq-listed company maintains membership in the S&P 500 and continues to blend traditional brokerage tools with emerging crypto capabilities.

Interactive Brokers CEO Milan Galik highlighted the service’s appeal by drawing a parallel to the firm’s existing Stock Yield Enhancement Program. He noted that the staking option provides a comparable mechanism for generating extra income from digital assets held in brokerage accounts.
Zerohash powers the staking infrastructure, with the provider separately pursuing a U.S. national trust bank charter. This arrangement allows Interactive Brokers to offer staking without building its own validator network, while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency. The collaboration aligns with the brokerage’s broader strategy of incorporating regulatory-friendly crypto tools into its core platform.
The timing coincides with continued growth in institutional interest in tokenized assets and yield-bearing digital holdings. Interactive Brokers has faced some stock price pressure on the announcement day, yet the company remains up more than 32 percent year-to-date, reflecting steady performance amid multiple new offerings in prediction markets and digital asset infrastructure. Eligible clients of Interactive Brokers U.K. Limited and other affiliates may have access through their respective portals, with availability determined by jurisdiction.
