Exchange adds AVA, GNS, SCR and TOWNS to heightened review list while delisting multiple early-stage assets from its Alpha feature on September 4, 2026
Binance announced on September 4, 2026, that it would place four cryptocurrencies under its Monitoring Tag following recent project assessments. The tokens involved are AVA, Gains Network (GNS),Scroll (SCR) and Towns Protocol (TOWNS). At the same time, the exchange removed 14 tokens from the Binance Alpha recommendation list.
The Monitoring Tag signals that an asset shows higher volatility and risk relative to other listed tokens. Binance will subject the four projects to more frequent reviews. A token carrying the tag remains tradable on Spot and Margin markets, and related services stay available. However, the designation raises the possibility of eventual removal if the project fails to meet ongoing listing standards.
Users trading these assets typically encounter risk warning banners on trading interfaces and the Markets Overview page. In many cases they must complete a risk-awareness questionnaire every 90 days and accept the platform’s terms.
Binance evaluates multiple factors during its reviews. These include the project team’s ongoing commitment, the level and quality of development activity, trading volume and liquidity, network and smart-contract stability, public communication practices, responsiveness to due-diligence requests, changes to token supply or tokenomics, and any evidence of unethical, fraudulent or negligent conduct. The exchange stated it may add or remove the tag after future assessments.
Separately, Binance Alpha, a feature within Binance Wallet that surfaces early-stage tokens, removed 14 assets from its featured list. The change took effect at 08:30 UTC on September 4, 2026. The tokens are MTP (Multiple Network),BDXN (Bondex Token),TALE (PrompTale AI),BOS (BitcoinOS),MAIGA (Maiga.ai),TIMI (MetaArena),SAROS (Saros),U (Union),SERAPH (SERAPH),RVV (REVIVE),AIAV (AI Avatar),PENGUIN (Nietzschean Penguin),ODOS (Odos) and SN3 (Nebula3).
Removal from Alpha does not constitute a full delisting from Binance’s main spot market. Users retain the ability to sell the tokens via Alpha’s instant-order function or withdraw them through the assets page. Supported assets can also be traded through the Binance Wallet market interface.
Binance indicated the projects no longer met Alpha’s selection standards after its latest review but did not publish project-specific reasons for each removal.
| Action | Tokens | Effective Date |
|---|---|---|
| Added to Monitoring Tag | AVA, GNS, SCR, TOWNS | September 4, 2026 |
| Removed from Binance Alpha | MTP, BDXN, TALE, BOS, MAIGA, TIMI, SAROS, U, SERAPH, RVV, AIAV, PENGUIN, ODOS, SN3 | September 4, 2026, 08:30 UTC |
The Monitoring Tag applies to assets already listed on Binance’s primary markets and serves as an elevated-risk warning. Alpha removals affect only the early-stage discovery feature and leave other trading avenues intact. Full spot delistings normally involve separate timelines for trading cessation, deposits and withdrawals across multiple products; no such broader deadlines were announced for the 14 Alpha tokens.
Some of the Alpha-removed tokens recorded sharp price declines in the hours after the announcement, with several reaching new lows. Broader cryptocurrency market capitalization moved higher on the same day, according to available data.
Binance continues to conduct periodic reviews of tagged projects and Alpha listings. Project teams retain the ability to address concerns raised during assessments, though final listing decisions rest with the exchange.
