Whitechain shifts to an OP Stack-based Ethereum Layer 2 model centered on user acquisition, pairing technical infrastructure with access to tens of millions of users through W Group and WhiteBIT
Whitechain has relaunched as a distribution-first Ethereum Layer 2 network built on the OP Stack. The platform aims to solve a persistent challenge for Web3 projects: reaching real users, attracting liquidity, and sustaining on-chain activity after products are launched.
The network operates within W Group, a global fintech ecosystem that serves more than 40 million users. It is also linked to WhiteBIT, a cryptocurrency exchange with a user base exceeding 10 million. This structure is intended to connect Ethereum-compatible on-chain infrastructure with established distribution channels outside pure blockchain environments.
Most Layer 2 networks have competed primarily on speed, scalability, and lower transaction fees. Whitechain instead places user acquisition and ecosystem reach at the core of its design. By operating as an exchange-powered Ethereum L2, the network seeks to give projects a direct path to audiences already active within the broader W Group and WhiteBIT platforms.
Whitechain is secured by Ethereum and uses the OP Stack. This choice allows developers to work with existing wallet, indexing, and tooling standards from the outset rather than waiting for new infrastructure to mature. The native gas token is WBT.
The relaunch includes structured pathways for teams ranging from early builders to established protocols. Support is backed by W Group and covers funding, migration assistance, and audience expansion.
On August 18, Whitechain opened its public testnet along with funding applications and a migration track. These channels are available to early-stage teams, established protocols, and multichain projects.
As the network moves toward mainnet, Whitechain intends to launch core primitives on day one. These are planned to include a native decentralized exchange, an oracle, and a bridge. The components are meant to give developers the basic tools needed to deploy applications and move liquidity within the ecosystem from the start.
Projects interested in building, migrating, or expanding on the network can apply through the Whitechain ecosystem program. The platform is headquartered in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and positions itself as a distribution-first blockchain dedicated to accelerating broader blockchain adoption.
