Ripple has introduced Ripple Mint, a new enterprise tool enabling institutions to efficiently mint, redeem, and manage its regulated RLUSD stablecoin across multiple blockchains, alongside broader multichain support and a strategic compliance investment
Ripple has rolled out Ripple Mint, a unified platform designed specifically for institutional users seeking streamlined access to its US dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD. The system combines an intuitive web-based dashboard with robust API capabilities, allowing organizations to handle operations manually or through automated integrations with their existing infrastructure.
Institutions can now mint and redeem RLUSD, transfer the stablecoin between supported networks, monitor transaction progress in real time, and incorporate these activities into treasury, settlement, compliance, and accounting workflows. Advanced features include webhook notifications for immediate updates and shared reference identifiers that link fiat deposits, token issuance, on-chain settlements, and redemptions, facilitating easier reconciliation and operational oversight.
The platform targets a range of financial participants, including exchanges, market makers, fintech companies, payment providers, and asset managers. It is immediately available to existing RLUSD customers, addressing previous reliance on fragmented manual processes.
Concurrent with the platform launch, Ripple has broadened RLUSD availability to additional blockchain networks. The stablecoin now supports operations on the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain, building on its existing presence on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. This expansion leverages frameworks like Wormhole for native token transfers, aiming to reduce reliance on wrapped versions and improve interoperability.
The XRPL EVM Sidechain serves as a key component, merging Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility with the XRP Ledger's performance advantages. Ripple positions RLUSD as a regulated digital dollar for payments, settlements, and treasury functions, while noting that it complements rather than competes with XRP, which continues to serve as a bridge asset for liquidity, swaps, and cross-border transfers.
| Network | RLUSD Support |
|---|---|
| XRP Ledger | Yes |
| Ethereum | Yes |
| XRPL EVM Sidechain | Yes |
| Base | Yes |
| Optimism | Yes |
| Ink | Yes |
| Unichain | Yes |
To further support institutional adoption, Ripple has made a strategic investment in Notabene, a compliance technology provider. The partnership will integrate RLUSD into Notabene's Flow platform, which facilitates secure business-to-business stablecoin payments across more than 100 jurisdictions and connects thousands of institutions.
This move enhances regulatory alignment, particularly for Travel Rule requirements and counterparty due diligence, strengthening RLUSD's suitability for regulated financial environments.
RLUSD, issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company under a New York Department of Financial Services charter, maintains full reserves in cash, equivalents, and U.S. Treasuries, with regular independent attestations. Recent figures show circulating supply around $1.51 billion, supported by reserves exceeding that amount.
While holder numbers and active addresses have grown, monthly transfer volumes experienced a decline of approximately 25 percent to roughly $10.95 billion. The developments arrive as RLUSD continues to gain traction in areas such as XRP Ledger trading pairs and select international markets, including Japan.
These initiatives collectively aim to position RLUSD more firmly within institutional digital asset strategies across payments, trading, and decentralized finance applications.
