Hong Kong unit of Korean firm partners with onchain platform on initial tokenised notes, with plans to examine further products including Treasuries and ETFs
Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited has arranged the issuance of tokenised funding notes under an affiliate’s structured notes programme, with Grvt taking a subscription in a deal announced on 27 October 2026. The transaction marks the first step in a collaboration between the Hong Kong subsidiary of one of South Korea’s largest securities firms and the onchain platform Grvt.
Grvt intends to apply the resulting exposure in connection with its Grvt Earn product, subject to applicable requirements. Grvt Earn operates independently and is available solely to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions. Yields on the product are variable and not guaranteed. Grvt holds no licence or registration with Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, and Grvt Earn is neither authorised by the SFC nor offered to the public in Hong Kong.
Details such as the name of the affiliate issuer, issuance size, subscription amount, currency, coupon, maturity and underlying assets were not disclosed. The notes form the starting point of the partnership. The two firms plan to examine additional tokenised products, including Treasuries, corporate bonds and exchange-traded funds, on a non-committed and exploratory basis. Any further activity remains subject to regulatory approvals, product and compliance clearance, and each party’s internal authorisations.
Mirae Asset Financial Group oversees more than US$1 trillion in client assets worldwide as of September 2026. The parties stated they intend to examine opportunities involving selected tokenised products under applicable regulatory requirements.
Mirae Asset Securities has advanced its digital asset activities throughout 2026. In January it became the first Korean securities firm to issue digital bonds in Hong Kong. In April, Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited received Securities and Futures Commission approval to offer digital asset trading to retail investors, becoming the first Korean-owned brokerage to secure that authorisation. In July the firm launched MAPS in Hong Kong, an application providing access to both traditional and digital assets within the products permitted by the SFC.
Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited holds SFC CE number BJB333 and operates as a member of the Mirae Asset Financial Group. Its parent, Mirae Asset Securities Co., ranks among the largest securities firms in South Korea. The Hong Kong entity connects clients to global markets through the group’s international network and product capabilities.
Grvt has operated as an onchain platform since 2024. Users can trade, invest and earn from a single account controlled solely by their own key. The platform has served more than 198,000 wallets and recorded a peak total value locked of US$109 million on 22 March 2026. It is backed by ZKsync, Further Ventures, 500 Global and Hack VC, and maintains partnerships with firms including Ondo Finance, Aave, Morpho, Plume and OpenEden.
