Curve Finance has activated its StableSwap protocol on the Stellar mainnet, marking the decentralized exchange’s first native deployment outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem
Curve Finance and the Stellar Development Foundation announced on October 29, 2026, that StableSwap is now live on Stellar’s mainnet. The release enables users to create liquidity pools without permission, discover existing pools, execute swaps and supply liquidity for assets whose prices remain closely aligned.
StableSwap targets stablecoins pegged to the same currency, wrapped bitcoin tokens and synthetic crypto assets. Because Stellar does not run the Ethereum Virtual Machine, Curve rebuilt the protocol from the ground up for Stellar’s Soroban smart-contract environment rather than porting existing code.
Curve founder Michael Egorov stated that the protocol began examining non-EVM chains only where clear demand existed. He described Stellar as a suitable match because it operates closer to familiar EVM patterns than many other networks, while institutional interest provided the primary driver for the integration.
Denelle Dixon, chief executive and executive director of the Stellar Development Foundation, said the arrival of Curve supplies developers with infrastructure needed to create efficient markets for stablecoins and tokenized assets.
Curve intends to introduce its FXSwap product on Stellar once a third-party security audit concludes. FXSwap is designed for pairs whose prices move relative to one another, including foreign-exchange stablecoins and certain real-world asset combinations. No specific launch date has been disclosed.
At the time of the Stellar deployment, Curve’s total value locked stood at approximately $1.27 billion. Stellar’s overall stablecoin market is estimated near $394 million, with the majority held in USDC. Trading volumes and liquidity figures for the newly created Stellar pools have not yet been released.
The Curve launch arrives amid a series of recent developments on the network. MetaMask is adding Stellar as a default network in its mobile application and browser extension, allowing existing accounts to generate Stellar addresses from recovery phrases without additional setup. Separately, tokenization platform Securitize has outlined plans to support issuance and management of tokenized financial assets on Stellar.
Curve launched in 2020 and has expanded from automated market-making into lending products and its own stablecoin, crvUSD. The Stellar deployment represents the protocol’s first step onto a non-EVM chain after earlier expansions of FXSwap across several EVM-compatible networks.
Users can access the beta interface to browse pools, perform swaps and add liquidity on Stellar. The protocol has retained its core StableSwap mechanics while adapting the implementation to the network’s architecture.
