A Crypto.com Exchange customer lost access to his account and balances after a successful login notification, receiving conflicting support responses and no clear resolution path for more than a week
A long-standing Crypto.com Exchange user found himself unable to reach his account or withdraw funds beginning on August 13, despite receiving an official email confirming a successful login. The incident has left the balances inaccessible for more than eight days, with customer support offering contradictory descriptions of the account’s status and no firm timeline for restoring access or returning the assets.
Bradley Peak, who had used the same Exchange account and deposit arrangements for several years, reported that credentials were accepted and a “Crypto.com Exchange – Successful Login” message arrived. Yet the platform redirected him away from the exchange interface, and browser requests returned a 401 Unauthorized response. No suspension notice, document request, or account-status warning appeared beforehand.
When Peak contacted customer support, the information he received shifted between agents. One specialist stated that the exchange account was “rejected,” without defining the term or indicating when the status had been applied. The matter was escalated, but the representative said no exact timeframe could be provided.
A subsequent agent took a different position after reviewing the registered email address, saying no exchange account existed under that address. Peak supplied earlier Crypto.com messages that confirmed the account and recorded successful logins. Support continued to describe the case as still in progress and assigned to another team, again without a resolution date.
The company declined to address the specific account. It noted that restrictions can be applied during reviews of customer activity but did not confirm whether Peak’s case fell under such a process, nor did it state the location of the funds or a deadline for their release.
Following external inquiries, Crypto.com asked Peak for an external wallet address so the assets could be sent. As of August 21 the transfer had not taken place. Peak remained without access to the balances, without an account-specific explanation, and without a firm date for resolution.
Crypto.com’s UK entity, Foris DAX UK, is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority under money-laundering regulations for certain cryptoasset activities. That registration does not confer the same customer protections available under broader financial authorization regimes, and customers do not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme for these services.
Anonymous posts on Crypto.com’s public forum in 2026 have described comparable experiences, including blocked withdrawals after routine reviews, unauthorized errors, and repeated escalations through support queues. In one reported case access was restored after a formal complaint; in others users described multi-day lockouts triggered by routine account changes. These accounts have not been independently verified and do not establish how frequently such problems occur.
Centralized exchanges may lawfully pause activity for compliance reasons and are often limited in what they can disclose during reviews. The absence of a consistent account status and a working path to recovery leaves affected users without clear next steps while funds remain under the platform’s control.
As of the most recent updates, Peak’s case continued to sit with support, with the company stating that engagement would continue as appropriate. The balances remained inaccessible more than a week after the initial successful-login notification.
