The exchange enables professional traders to operate up to five independent MT5 accounts for separate strategies while retaining centralized oversight and risk controls
Bitget has launched CFD Sub-Accounts, a new feature that lets eligible users manage multiple trading strategies through independent MetaTrader 5 accounts linked to a single main account. The offering targets professional traders, proprietary trading teams, and high-net-worth individuals who need to keep positions, execution, and performance isolated across different approaches.
The system addresses operational challenges that arise when several strategies share one MT5 account. Different time horizons, risk profiles, and automated models can lead to overlapping positions, mixed margin usage, and unclear performance tracking. By assigning each strategy its own sub-account, traders maintain clear separation while still operating within the Bitget platform.
Users can create up to five CFD sub-accounts by default. Each receives its own independent MT5 ID. The sub-accounts automatically inherit the know-your-customer verification status and risk-control settings of the main account, so traders do not need to complete verification steps again for every new account.
Positions and trade execution remain fully separate across the sub-accounts. At the same time, the main account functions as the central control hub. From one dashboard, users can view real-time equity levels, margin ratios, and order histories for all linked accounts. Password management is also handled centrally: the main account holds authority to reset both trading passwords and read-only passwords for any of its sub-accounts.
Risk notifications are delivered on a per-account basis. Margin calls and liquidation alerts are sent to the email address and in-app notifications tied specifically to the affected sub-account, allowing teams to respond to individual risk events without delay.
The feature is particularly suited to traders who rely on Expert Advisors and other automated trading models. Running multiple automated systems or discretionary strategies with distinct parameters becomes more practical when each operates in its own isolated MT5 environment. This structure reduces the chance of one strategy’s activity interfering with another’s margin or position management.
The introduction of CFD Sub-Accounts forms part of Bitget’s broader effort to strengthen its contracts-for-difference infrastructure. The exchange is expanding tools that combine independent trading environments with unified account oversight, consistent with its Universal Exchange approach that brings together crypto and traditional market products under one platform.
By providing both separation of strategies and centralized monitoring, the new accounts give professional users greater flexibility in organizing automated systems, discretionary trades, and risk parameters while keeping all activity under a single main account structure.
