Binance Futures added USDT-settled perpetual contracts for PONS and HAJIMI on September 6, with differing leverage limits and rapid market activity including a large automated trade
Binance Futures opened trading in two new USDT-margined perpetual contracts on September 6. The PONSUSDT market began at 06:45 UTC, followed by HajimiUSDT at 07:15 UTC. Both products allow continuous trading without expiration dates and settle funding payments every four hours.
The contracts require a minimum notional value of 5 USDT per order. Tick sizes are set at 0.0001 for PONSUSDT and 0.00001 for HajimiUSDT. Funding rates start with a cap of positive or negative 2 percent. Multi-Assets Mode is available, and Futures Copy Trading support was scheduled within 24 hours of launch. Availability remains subject to regional restrictions.
Published details indicate up to 20 times leverage for the PONSUSDT contract and a maximum of 3 times for HajimiUSDT. Some contract specification materials listed a 3 times limit for both, creating an inconsistency that users were advised to resolve by checking the live trading interface. Binance retains the ability to adjust leverage, margin requirements, funding rates, and other parameters based on market conditions.
The lower leverage on HAJIMI aligns with its profile as a speculative meme asset, while the higher limit on PONS matches its utility role within a launchpad ecosystem.
PONS serves as the native token of Pons, a non-custodial token launchpad operating on Robinhood Chain. That network is an Arbitrum-based Layer 2 designed for faster and lower-cost transactions. The token incorporates a deflationary design that uses transaction fees to fund automatic buybacks and burns. PONS had already been added to Binance Alpha days earlier, though the futures listing does not constitute or guarantee a main spot market listing.
HAJIMI, also rendered as Hajimi or written in Chinese characters in some materials, is a meme coin launched on the BNB Smart Chain through the four.meme platform. Its price movements have been driven primarily by community interest, particularly among Asian traders, rather than defined utility or revenue streams.
Around the time of the futures launch, PONS traded near 0.89 to 0.93 dollars after gains of roughly 24 percent over 24 hours in some snapshots. Daily trading volume reached approximately 20.39 million dollars, with market capitalization approaching 1 billion dollars. Earlier project data showed daily fees near 5.95 million dollars and cumulative decentralized exchange volume above 719 million dollars.
HAJIMI showed sharper moves. Initial readings placed it near 0.058 dollars after a gain exceeding 248 percent, later stabilizing around 0.072 dollars with volumes of 26.66 million to more than 30 million dollars. Its 24-hour range in one data set stretched from about 0.016 to 0.145 dollars, with an estimated market capitalization near 70 million dollars.
| Token | Reported Leverage Cap | Approximate Price | Trading Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| PONS | Up to 20x | $0.89–$0.93 | $20.39 million |
| HAJIMI | 3x | $0.058–$0.072 | $26.66–$30.3 million |
Shortly after the listing news, an automated strategy captured significant early liquidity in the HAJIMI market. On-chain data showed a transaction timed to the announcement that purchased 9.89 million HAJIMI tokens for approximately 200,000 dollars at an average of 0.02 dollars each. The position was closed minutes later at an average near 0.058 dollars.
The operator paid a bribe of 35.3 BNB, valued at about 26,800 dollars, plus 5.5 BNB in priority fees valued at roughly 4,200 dollars, for total costs near 31,000 dollars. Net profit after expenses reached 378,000 dollars. The trade used a private connection to a validator node to secure priority inclusion.
Both markets continued to show elevated volatility as traders responded to the new contracts. Neither futures listing alters the separate status of any potential future spot listings on the exchange.
