Social platform X has activated a U.S. program that lets users move from cashtag pages for stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies straight to trading on partner brokerages including Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo
X has introduced its U.S. Cashtag Partner Program, enabling users to transition directly from financial conversations and market data into trading activity through established brokerage and cryptocurrency platforms. The initiative connects interactive cashtags with five partners: Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo.
When a user selects a supported cashtag for a stock, exchange-traded fund or cryptocurrency, an asset page displays real-time price information, charts and related discussions. A new Trade option then appears, allowing the user to choose a participating firm and continue the process on that company’s platform. Order execution and asset custody remain with the selected partner. X does not process the trades itself. Users must meet each firm’s account requirements, identity verification standards and eligibility rules, which can vary by jurisdiction and product availability.
The program expands features introduced earlier in 2026. Smart cashtags turned ticker symbols into interactive destinations that deliver live market data and conversations about specific assets. Those pages already reduced confusion among similarly named tokens by supporting contract addresses and clearer asset selection. The trading links now add a practical next step for U.S. users.
Canadian users previously gained a trading connection through Wealthsimple. The U.S. rollout brings multiple partners and covers both traditional securities and cryptocurrencies. Interactive Brokers and Moomoo primarily support stocks and ETFs, while Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini provide access to crypto trading. Some partners also offer broader product ranges, though availability depends on the individual firm’s offerings and the user’s location.
The Cashtag Partner Program fits into X’s ongoing development of financial services under its Everything App strategy. The company has already launched X Money, which supports peer-to-peer transfers, direct deposits, a debit card and yields on eligible balances. Those payment tools operate separately from the cashtag trading links. The new program routes investment activity outward to regulated partners rather than executing trades inside the social platform.
X Product Engineering Lead Mridul Singhai noted that the feature shortens the gap between a ticker appearing on a user’s timeline and the corresponding market. Users can view a live chart, follow the discussion around an asset and, if they choose, move to a partner platform to trade.
A supported cashtag such as $BTC, $ETH or $TSLA opens an asset panel combining price data with related posts. From there the Trade button directs the user to the selected partner’s app or website. The process reduces the need to leave the discussion, open a separate brokerage app and search for the same ticker again. X has not published a full list of supported tickers. Coverage may differ across partners because each maintains its own product catalog and customer eligibility criteria.
American users remain subject to each provider’s onboarding process, state-level restrictions and product limitations. Market information on a cashtag page can appear even when a particular user cannot trade that asset through every listed partner.
The arrangement keeps X focused on discovery, data and conversation while partner firms handle regulated trading and custody. No timeline has been given for adding further financial companies or expanding the program beyond the United States.
