The company also spent $208.2 million repurchasing STRC preferred shares, funded partly by $164 million in MSTR stock sales, while reporting $4.9 billion in total USD assets
Strategy purchased 811 bitcoin for approximately $65.5 million during the week of October 26 to November 1, resuming acquisitions after a one-week pause. The average purchase price stood at $80,846 per bitcoin, including fees. This addition brought the firm's total bitcoin holdings to 849,327 BTC, acquired at an aggregate cost of $64.08 billion, or an average of $75,451 per coin across its entire position.
The bitcoin purchases were financed through net proceeds from the sale of 1,178,552 shares of Class A common stock (MSTR) under the company's at-the-market equity program. Those sales generated $164 million after commissions. Of that amount, $65.5 million supported the bitcoin acquisition, while the remaining $98.5 million was added to the firm's USD Cash balance.
In parallel, Strategy directed $208.2 million from its existing USD Cash reserves to repurchase 2,092,035 shares of its STRC preferred stock. This outlay exceeded the bitcoin spend by more than three times and continued a recent pattern in which preferred-share buybacks have outpaced bitcoin accumulation. Between October 1 and October 25, the company had already allocated roughly $664 million to STRC repurchases against about $72 million spent on bitcoin.
As of November 1, Strategy reported a USD Cash balance of $132.7 million, down from $242.4 million a week earlier. Its separate USD Reserve, maintained to cover preferred dividends and debt interest, stood at $4.79 billion after the payment of $43.4 million in preferred dividends during the period. Combined USD assets totaled approximately $4.9 billion. Remaining authorization under the preferred-share repurchase program was $748.6 million following an earlier increase of the program limit to $3 billion.
The latest bitcoin purchase marks a return to accumulation after Strategy reported no new bitcoin acquisitions in the preceding week, when it focused solely on STRC buybacks of $204.9 million. Prior weekly purchases had sometimes involved larger volumes, making the 811-bitcoin tranche one of the smaller recent additions. The company has not issued new shares of its preferred series STRF, STRC, STRK, or STRD in recent periods, consistent with a pause on STRC sales that began when the preferred stock traded below its $100 target price.
STRC shares traded near $99.22 in early trading following the disclosure, remaining slightly below the level at which the company has indicated it would resume new preferred issuances. Strategy continues to manage its capital structure under a framework that balances bitcoin reserve growth with preferred-stock and cash-reserve considerations. The firm has stated that its USD assets provide coverage for more than three years of related obligations.
Strategy remains one of the largest corporate holders of bitcoin. Its software operations continue alongside the treasury strategy, with recent quarterly results previously showing substantial gains tied to cryptocurrency valuations. The company faces debt maturities beginning in 2025 and extending through 2032, reinforcing the ongoing importance of liquidity and capital-structure management.
