Global X Investments Canada announced October distributions for balanced, bank, equity and bond ETFs, with shared ex-dates and payment timing in early November
Global X Investments Canada Inc. declared monthly cash distributions for four exchange-traded funds listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The announcements, made on Friday, Oct. 23, cover the Global X Balanced Asset Allocation ETF, the Global X Equal Weight Canadian Banks Index ETF, the Global X Enhanced All-Equity Asset Allocation ETF and the Global X 1-10 Year Canadian Corporate Bond Index ETF.
Each fund set Friday, Oct. 30, as both the ex-distribution date and the record date. Payments are scheduled for on or about Nov. 6.
The Global X Balanced Asset Allocation ETF (HBAL) will pay 0.04 Canadian dollars, or about 0.0286 U.S. dollars, per security. The amount matches the fund’s previous monthly distribution. Holders enrolled in the dividend reinvestment plan may receive additional securities instead of cash.
The Global X Equal Weight Canadian Banks Index ETF (HBNK) declared a distribution of 0.10 Canadian dollars, equivalent to roughly 0.0714 U.S. dollars, per security. The tax treatment of the distribution will be determined after year-end.
The Global X Enhanced All-Equity Asset Allocation ETF (HEQL) set a monthly dividend of 0.065 Canadian dollars, or approximately 0.0464 U.S. dollars, per share. Shareholders of record on Oct. 30 are eligible for the payment scheduled for Nov. 6.
The Global X 1-10 Year Canadian Corporate Bond Index ETF (GCIG) announced a distribution of 0.177 Canadian dollars, about 0.1264 U.S. dollars, per unit. The fund tracks the FTSE Canada 1-10 Year Corporate Bond Index, which covers Canadian investment-grade corporate bonds with maturities primarily between one and 10 years. GCIG began operations on Sept. 21. Holders in the reinvestment plan may elect to receive additional ETF securities in place of cash, and the distribution’s tax character will be fixed after the fund’s tax year-end.
All four products trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The announcements confirm routine monthly distribution schedules rather than special or one-time payments. No changes to the stated distribution policies were indicated beyond the amounts and eligibility dates.
Global X Investments Canada Inc. manages the suite of funds. The company released the notices on Oct. 23, with one of the announcements timed at 4 p.m. ET.
