ESMA’s latest MiCA register update adds nine crypto-asset service providers, including BingX’s Austrian entity and YouHodler’s Italian subsidiary, bringing the total to 375 unique listings
The European Securities and Markets Authority has published its latest register update under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, adding nine crypto-asset service providers and removing one from the Danish market. The net result is a total of 375 unique entities now recognized across the EU. Other additions include Spain’s Prakma Markets and three German cooperative banks, while traditional banking groups also appear among the newcomers.
This expansion reflects ongoing implementation of the EU’s crypto regulatory framework, which governs activities such as custody, trading and transfers. The register serves as a public list of authorized or notified providers, though national regulators determine the exact scope of services each entity may offer in its home market.
BingX’s Austrian entity, MEGE zweite GmbH, has been added to the register following approval from Austria’s Financial Market Authority. The authorization, granted in mid-October 2026, covers four specific categories of crypto-asset services.
| Service Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Custody and administration of crypto-assets | Management and safekeeping of digital assets |
| Exchanges between crypto-assets and funds | Trading crypto-assets against traditional currency |
| Exchanges between different crypto-assets | Direct swaps among digital assets |
| Execution of customer orders and crypto-asset transfers | Order handling and asset movement |
BingX EU chief executive Daniel Lai stated that the approval provides a clear regulatory framework for the company’s planned operations. “Europe, we’re ready. 🇪🇺 BingX EU is now MiCA licensed, bringing regulated digital asset services to users across the EEA,” the company posted on social media on October 14. BingX intends to serve 29 European Economic Area markets, though cross-border notifications remain subject to applicable requirements. The license does not extend to operating a multilateral trading platform, executing leveraged derivatives or offering investment advice.
YouHodler Italy S.r.l. entered the register after Italy’s securities regulator, CONSOB, granted authorization under resolution No. 24156 dated October 8, 2026. The decision followed consultation with the Bank of Italy. The Italian subsidiary’s approval covers five service categories.
| Service Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Custody and administration of crypto-assets | Management and safekeeping of digital assets |
| Exchanges between crypto-assets and ordinary money | Trading crypto-assets against fiat currency |
| Exchanges between crypto-assets | Direct swaps among digital assets |
| Execution of customer orders | Order handling |
| Crypto-asset transfers | Asset movement services |
Chief business officer Lorenzo Barbantini Scanni described the authorization as a result of collaboration with Italian regulators. Co-founder Ilya Volkov added that it allows the group to operate within the EU’s common regulatory framework. YouHodler plans to expand services across all 27 EU member states through the cross-border notification procedure. As with BingX, the permissions are specific to the Italian legal entity and do not automatically apply to other group companies or cover every product offered under the wider brand.
Santander’s German subsidiary Openbank Deutschland AG and two regional cooperative lenders, VR-Bank Alb-Blau-Donau and VR Bank im südlichen Franken, were also added. These entries highlight the growing involvement of traditional financial institutions in regulated crypto activities. Spain’s Prakma Markets, linked to the Goin crypto app’s savings and investment platform, completed the list of other notable additions.
Denmark’s Penning Financial Services ApS is no longer shown in the register. The company has stated that its authorization remains unchanged and that it received no communication regarding any withdrawal. ESMA maintains that withdrawn entries should still appear with relevant details until formally removed.
The additions bring the register closer to the framework’s goals of transparency and investor protection. Firms must still comply with national licensing requirements, and many activities continue to rely on cross-border notifications. Providers such as BingX and YouHodler emphasize that their authorizations enable compliant operations but do not guarantee immediate customer access to every listed service in every jurisdiction.
Industry observers note the rising participation of established banks and subsidiaries in the register, alongside crypto-native platforms. This mix underscores the integration of digital assets into broader financial systems across the European Economic Area. The update occurred on October 16, 2026, with companies announcing their individual authorizations shortly before.
