Digital asset firm gains British Virgin Islands regulatory authorization for virtual asset exchange and related financial services, expanding options for institutional clients
DWF Labs, a digital asset investor and market maker, has received Virtual Asset Service Provider approval from the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission for a group entity. The authorization, granted under the territory’s Virtual Assets Service Providers Act 2022, was announced on September 3, 2026, from Road Town, Tortola.
The approval permits the firm to exchange one or more forms of virtual assets and to take part in or provide financial services connected to an issuer’s offer or sale of a virtual asset. Institutional clients can now access the company’s integrated over-the-counter trading and market-making services, including spot trading across thousands of digital assets and stablecoins, through the regulated BVI entity.
Beyond trading, the registration strengthens DWF Labs’ capacity to offer investment, incubation, and ecosystem development support to token issuers and digital asset projects on an international basis. The firm stated it plans further regulatory expansion in major markets as part of its growth strategy and ongoing commitment to operating under established frameworks.
The British Virgin Islands has developed a significant role in decentralized ledger activity and structured real-world asset tokenization. The jurisdiction accounts for nearly 10 percent of the global market for tokenized U.S. Treasuries, representing $1.5 billion in distributed value. Entities based there also support more than $1.2 billion in active circulating stablecoins, serving over 24,700 holders with weekly transfer volumes of $694.1 million, according to data from rwa.xyz.
Founded in 2022, DWF Labs operates as an investor and market maker that supplies capital, liquidity, expertise, and partnerships to digital asset projects. It ranks among the largest high-frequency digital asset trading organizations worldwide and remains active on more than 80 centralized and decentralized exchanges. The firm provides support to over 20 percent of CoinMarketCap’s top 100 projects and 35 percent of its top 1,000. It has collaborated with more than 1,000 blockchain companies spanning Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks, decentralized finance, gaming, artificial intelligence, payments, infrastructure, and tokenization.
Its activities are organized into four main areas: liquidity provision through institutional market making; investment and incubation involving strategic capital and token advisory; ecosystem development focused on go-to-market assistance; and over-the-counter and structured markets offering customized trading solutions for institutions, funds, and protocol treasuries. The company also founded and incubated Falcon Finance, a synthetic dollar and universal collateralization protocol. DWF Labs maintains a globally distributed team that operates continuously.
