Bitmine added 27,801 ETH last week, pushing its total to 5.77 million tokens representing 4.8% of supply, while Tom Lee pointed to Robinhood Chain activity as evidence of growing Ethereum use
Bitmine Immersion Technologies purchased 27,801 ETH over the past week according to its latest treasury update. This addition brings the company's total Ethereum holdings to 5,770,038 ETH, equal to roughly 4.8 percent of Ethereum's circulating supply of about 120.7 million tokens.
The company now stands close to its target of holding 5 percent of total ETH supply by the end of the year. Tom Lee, Bitmine chairman, has maintained this goal through consistent weekly purchases throughout 2026.
Bitmine has staked more than 85 percent of its Ethereum holdings through its MAVAN validator infrastructure. This setup generates substantial recurring revenue while keeping the assets committed to the network.
Beyond Ethereum, the company's balance sheet includes 206 bitcoin, $482 million in cash and marketable securities, plus equity stakes in other firms. Overall crypto assets, cash, and investments reached $11.3 billion as of July 12.
Tom Lee highlighted the July 1 mainnet launch of Robinhood Chain as a major development for Ethereum. Built on Arbitrum technology, the layer-2 network processes transactions off the main chain before settling on Ethereum, with ETH serving as the gas token.
Early results show strong adoption. Dollar-denominated trading volume on Robinhood Chain has passed $1 billion, exceeding volumes on other decentralized exchanges. Daily transactions reached 7.6 million at points, and weekly DEX volume surpassed $3 billion in recent reports.
Lee described this activity as proof of Ethereum's product-market fit, with millions of everyday users engaging directly with ETH for fees and transactions.
Despite the continued accumulation, Bitmine shares (BMNR) declined around 2 percent following the announcement. Ethereum itself traded near $1,770, down slightly in the period.
Bitmine's strategy stands in contrast to other corporate treasury approaches, such as Strategy's recent pause in Bitcoin purchases while building cash reserves. Bitmine has kept its weekly ETH buying pace steady even amid market fluctuations.
| Period | ETH Purchased | Total Holdings |
|---|---|---|
| Recent Week | 27,801 | 5,770,038 |
| Prior Week | 42,197 | ~5.74 million |
The company's average purchase price remains above current market levels, resulting in an unrealized loss position. Still, Bitmine continues to execute its long-term plan focused on Ethereum exposure and network participation through staking.
