Privacy blockchain Beldex closes $8 million round led by Sigma Capital, lifting total capital raised to $36 million to advance encrypted infrastructure for developers and autonomous systems
Beldex, a privacy-focused blockchain ecosystem, has raised $8 million in a new funding round to expand its infrastructure for confidential Web3 applications and artificial intelligence agents. The round was led by Sigma Capital, with participation from NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund and EAK Ventures.
The investment brings Beldex’s total capital raised to $36 million. Earlier support came from DWF Labs and Block Alpha, which together provided $28 million in 2023. Announced on August 20, 2026, from Seychelles, the new capital will be directed toward developer tooling, protocol security, AI-related privacy features and broader ecosystem growth.
Beldex already operates a live Layer 1 network secured by a proof-of-stake masternode system. Its product suite includes the Beldex Wallet for private transactions, BChat for encrypted messaging, BelNet for decentralized private networking, the Beldex Browser for private web access, and Beldex Name Service (BNS) for human-readable names across wallets, messaging and private applications.
Company executives describe the current phase as a shift from a self-contained privacy ecosystem toward reusable infrastructure that external developers can adopt. Part of the fresh capital will fund the Beldex Extension Wallet, software development kits, account-based addresses and related tools intended to simplify integration with the Beldex network.
Beldex is also developing confidential assets and an EVM-compatible sidechain. The sidechain aims to give developers familiar with Ethereum tooling an environment in which they can build applications that incorporate privacy features by default.
A central use of the new funds will be privacy technology tailored to AI agents. As autonomous systems take on greater responsibility for payments, credentials, communications and personal data, Beldex is examining how its existing stack can safeguard those interactions.
Planned work includes privacy-preserving agent identities delivered through BNS, encrypted AI-powered communication via BChat, confidential payments, and secure execution environments. The company is also researching Fully Homomorphic Encryption, a technique that permits computation on encrypted data without decrypting it, together with secure-memory approaches that protect sensitive information during processing.
Alex Mok Kong Ming, chief operating officer of Beldex, noted that the project has moved from supporting basic private transactions to constructing infrastructure suited for consumers, developers and AI agents. He stated that rising AI autonomy elevates the risk of data exposure and that Beldex intends to address the issue at the protocol level.
The funding will also advance cross-chain connectivity and longer-term security research. Beldex currently supports links with Binance Smart Chain and plans additional bridges to Ethereum, Solana and Base. Research continues into a threshold signature scheme and distributed key generation architecture that distributes signing authority across multiple participants.
Quantum-safe technologies for both transactions and messaging form part of the security roadmap. Near-term priorities include the Extension Wallet, SDKs, verifiable random function consensus improvements, account-based addresses, confidential assets and an EVM-compatible sidechain testnet.
Alongside these deliverables, the team will continue work on private smart contracts, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, AI privacy features and quantum-resistant methods. The stated objective is to make privacy capabilities readily available across transactions, communication, identity, applications and AI systems.
Beldex positions the raise as support for a broader transition in which privacy functions as a default layer rather than an optional addition. The company intends to convert research projects into production-ready infrastructure that developers can adopt without sacrificing usability or performance.
