U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded inflows for seven consecutive sessions totaling close to $1 billion, while Ethereum products extended their positive streak, even as Bitcoin traded near $66,000 and market volatility persisted
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds continued to draw significant investor interest, posting $68.99 million in net inflows on July 22. This marked the seventh straight day of positive flows, pushing the cumulative total for the period to approximately $930 million to $1 billion depending on the exact tracking window. The streak represents the longest run of consistent buying since mid-June and comes after earlier outflows earlier in the year.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the daily figures with around $38.8 million, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $21.5 million. Bitwise and Morgan Stanley products also saw modest gains, while Grayscale’s older GBTC experienced outflows offset by strong performance in its lower-fee Mini Trust version. Total assets under management for Bitcoin ETFs climbed above $80 billion.
Bitcoin’s price held steady around $65,000 to $66,000 during this period, briefly testing higher levels before settling. The inflows signal growing institutional appetite for regulated exposure through brokerage accounts rather than direct holdings.
Spot Ethereum ETFs similarly extended their inflow run to four consecutive days, recording $72.64 million on July 22. BlackRock’s ETHA and Fidelity’s FETH dominated the activity, contributing the bulk of the capital. Cumulative inflows for the category now stand near $11.2 billion, with total net assets exceeding $10.5 billion.
Trading volumes in Ethereum products remained robust, highlighting liquidity concentration in leading funds. This sustained demand occurs despite broader market sensitivities to macroeconomic developments and recent security incidents across decentralized protocols.
Beyond ETFs, traditional investors are exploring indirect Bitcoin exposure. The Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System increased its stake in Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy),which holds a substantial corporate Bitcoin treasury. This move provides pension beneficiaries with indirect access to Bitcoin performance without direct cryptocurrency ownership. The position grew modestly but reflects a cautious approach by public funds testing crypto-linked assets.
The ETF momentum arrives against a mixed market environment. While inflows demonstrate resilience, analysts note risks remain, including potential resistance levels near $68,000 and lingering effects from earlier 2026 outflows. Realized volatility has declined alongside the price recovery, and derivatives leverage has moderated, potentially reducing the risk of sharp liquidations.
Regulatory discussions continue in Washington, with industry participants calling for clearer frameworks. Recent comments from officials underscore the case-by-case evaluation of crypto structures, while security events like protocol exploits highlight ongoing operational challenges in the sector.
Overall, the combination of steady ETF subscriptions and selective institutional positioning points to measured but persistent interest in digital assets through established financial channels, even as prices consolidate and external factors influence sentiment.
